Role Summary
- This is a 3-month PhD student job.
- You will study grey seals at Skomer Marine Conservation Zone (MCZ).
- You will use data collected over 30 years about seals.
- Your work will help protect grey seals and improve monitoring.
Key Tasks
- Use numbers and data to check how seal monitoring has changed.
- Find out if changes are real or caused by new methods.
- Work with experts from Natural Resources Wales (NRW).
- Help test new tools like drones, cameras, and image analysis.
- Give advice to keep seal monitoring accurate and useful.
Skills And Experience
- You should be a PhD student.
- You need good skills in data analysis and science.
- You must be able to work for 3 months straight.
- You should be able to work flexibly, including some remote work.
Pay And Hours
- This is a short-term placement for 3 months.
- Working hours and pay details will be agreed.
Location And Workplace
- You will be near the closest NRW office to your home.
- You can work partly from home and partly at the office.
- Meetings or training will be planned in advance.
